Pope Francis will be sadly missed by our church. He was undoubtedly a pope for all people of all faiths and none. His example to all in the cause of peace and justice, the poor and vulnerable people among us, the care of creation, inclusion and welcome for all, walking together as people of God in a synodal church and his warmth and love for sick and children. Truly he was a man who lived the joy of the gospels in humility and love.
May he now rest in peace in the Fathers house.

Elizabeth McMahon

I would like to offer my Condolences to all those concerned on the recent passing of Pope Francis the 266th Pope. He did a lot of great work recognizing the damage done to the Catholic community and to other denominations throughout the world with the Industrial Reform Schools and Magdalene Laundries and to nature and all the other Species that share this planet with us. He will be greatly missed now that he has gone to his eternal reward.

Dear Pope Francis,
Thank you.
Thank you for being the head of the Catholic Church that I had always hoped for.
Thank you for being a truly caring , loving individual, whose sense of empathy towered most others’.
Thank you for showing this empathy to those who are often forgotten.
Thank you for refusing the pageantry and remaining humble.
Thank you for rekindling my faith in the Catholic Church.

You have left very large shoes to fill. I pray that your successor be victorious in filling those shoes as well as filling our hearts with hope, love and joy just as you did.

Twelve years were too short. Que descanses en paz querido Papa.

May you rest in peace and rise in glory Pope Francis. Thank you for your compelling witness in an increasingly secularised world - your commitment, constant toil and selfless service was and will remain inspiring.

With immense gratitude to God for Pope Francis. A remarkable Man whose smile spoke of Love; of Joy of living the Gospel and of Mercy. Always so gently but affirmingly, he invited us to remain mindful of our own suffering, the suffering of our fellow humans, the suffering of our planet. He remained a Leader who truly taught us: to be Hopeful; to truly live our faith through our daily actions; to dream; to stand up for what is just and to be the voice of the voiceless. Thank You. We will keep praying for you just as you asked of us but even more now we need you to pray for us.

A Dublin family

We wish to express our sincere condolences to Maria Elena and family on the death of Pope Francis. We have fond memories of being present as a family in Croke Park and also at the Mass in the Phoenix Park for the world meeting of families. We joined a pilgrimage to Rome in March this year to celebrate the Jubilee Year and were priviledged to be present at the Gemelli Hospital when he was discharge on 23rd March and received a blessing. He will be
sorely missed. He had so much HOPE for a more meciful, more human and more like Christ. Rest in Peace Papa.

I had the privilege of meeting Pope Francis twice. He was welcoming, warm, with a smile that would light up the room. A humble man who cared deeply for all people but particularly the marginalised and vulnerable and most in need. May his gentle soul rest in the arms of the Risen Lord.
