Care for our Common Home
Welcome to Care for Our Common Home, a link to an important theme of the pontificate of Pope Francis. In 2015, Pope Francis published Laudato Si’ – On Care for Our Common Home, the first papal encyclical on care for creation. On 4 October 2023, the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, patron of ecology, the Holy Father published his apostolic exhortation Laudate Deum, addressing the climate crisis. This link gives an insight into the Church’s social doctrine on integral human development which, in the light of the Gospel, recognises and interprets the current and future concerns of the human race.
