Bishop Lee calls for prayers across the diocese for families and crew of Pere Charles

The Bishop of Waterford and Lismore, Bishop William Lee, along with the Parish Priest of Killea – which includes Dunmore East – Fr Brian Power, met this afternoon with family members of the five missing crew of the vessel Pere Charles, which left Dunmore East harbour yesterday morning.  Bishop Lee met the relatives in their homes and on the quay side.

After the meetings, Bishop Lee said:  “I assured the relatives of my ongoing support and prayers and my heart goes out to each and every one of them.  The suffering and anguish that the loved ones are experiencing at this time is simply heartbreaking.”

“I am asking the priests and people of the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore to remember, in the prayers, the families and the crew members at their Masses this weekend.”

Bishop Lee concluded: “I also ask people to remember in their prayers the courageous efforts of all those involved in this search and rescue operation in Dunmore East.”
