MASSES OF THANKSGIVING IN HONOUR OF

BLESSED MOTHER TERESA OF CALCUTTA

Mother Teresa of Calcutta was beatified by Pope John Paul II at a
ceremony in St Peter’s Square Rome on Sunday last, 19th October 2003.
The beatification ceremony was attended by more than 300,000 people
including 500 Irish pilgrims.

During the coming week a series of Masses will be celebrated in Ireland
in honour of Blessed Mother Teresa. The Masses are being offered in
thanksgiving for the life of Blessed Mother Teresa and will be held
in Armagh, Dublin, Knock and Blarney from 25th – 29th October 2003.

Most Reverend Seán Brady, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All
Ireland will be the Principal Celebrant at the Masses in Armagh and
Knock on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th October. Most Rev John Magee,
Bishop of Cloyne will be the Chief Celebrant at the Mass in the Church
of the Immaculate Conception in Blarney, Co Cork and Fr Sean McArdle S.M.
will celebrate the Mass in Dublin.

DUBLIN – Saturday 25th October 2003

Mass of Thanksgiving at 11.00am in St Theresa’s Church, Donore Avenue,
Dublin 8.
Celebrant: Fr. Sean McArdle S.M.

ARMAGH – Saturday 25th October 2003
Mass of Thanksgiving at 7.30pm in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh.
Chief Celebrant: Archbishop Seán Brady

KNOCK – Sunday 26th October 2003
A National Day of Thanksgiving for the people of Ireland will be held in
Knock Shrine on Sunday 26th October 2003. Blessing of the Sick will take
place at 2.30pm and Mass at 3.00pm. Most Rev Seán Brady, Archbishop of
Armagh and Primate of All Ireland will be Chief Celebrant. Music will
be co-ordinated by Fr Liam Lawton. A relic of Blessed Mother Teresa
will be available for veneration.

BLARNEY, CO. CORK – Wednesday 29th October 2003

Mass of Thanksgiving at 7.30pm in The Church of the Immaculate Conception,
Blarney, Co Cork.
Chief Celebrant: Most Rev John Magee, Bishop of Cloyne

EXHIBITION
An Exhibition on Mother Teresa’s life and work will be held in the Synod
Hall, Armagh from 25th October to 5th November 2003.
