Statement of the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference regarding the questionnaire from the Synod on the Family
These responses from the dioceses of Ireland are already helping to inform the preparations for next October’s Extraordinary Meeting of the Synod of Bishops. The responses also provide us with a framework for considering important pastoral issues regarding marriage and the family.

This Conference hopes to introduce publicly the Council for Marriage and Family, invite a wide network of individuals and groups into collaboration with the Council and provide opportunity for participants to explore together and at depth the vision of marriage and family in Catholic theology and spirituality today.
The Council for Marriage and the Family of the Irish Bishops’ Conference has produced some resources for Advent and Christmas for use in homes and parishes. The resources comprise a leaflet of blessings and prayers for use during Advent and Christmas.
