Cardinal Cahal Daly to preside at Solemn Requiem Mass in Pro Cathedral

Cardinal Cahal Daly, Archbishop Emeritus of Armagh, will be the Principal Celebrant and Homilist at the Solemn Requiem Mass for Kevin Barry and his comrades in the Pro Cathedral, Dublin at 2.00pm on Sunday 14 October 2001.

Cardinal Desmond Connell, Archbishop of Dublin, was to have celebrated this Mass and preached the homily. However, he is at present in Rome, with Archbishop Sean Brady, President of the Irish Episcopal Conference, for the World Synod of Bishops (30 September to 27 October).

Press packs will be available to media representatives attending the Requiem Mass in the Pro Cathedral on Sunday. Please note that flash photography is not permitted, nor is photography permitted during the distribution of Holy Communion.

The Mass is being televised live on RTÉ television.
