Media advisory notice for the Funeral Masses of Nicole Murphy RIP, Luke McSweeney RIP, Grace McSweeney RIP and Zoey Coffey RIP

The Diocese of Waterford & Lismore wishes to advise journalists of the following information regarding the funeral arrangements and Masses for Nicole Murphy RIP, Luke McSweeney RIP, Grace McSweeney RIP, and Zoey Coffey, RIP.  In order to facilitate the officiating priests in pastorally supporting the grieving families, and in their preparation of the Funeral Liturgies, media are asked to direct all queries to the Catholic Communications Office in Maynooth. 
 
In response to the wishes of the families and out of respect for the solemnity of the funeral prayers and Masses, please note:

  • Photography and cameras are not permitted within the churches before or during the Funeral Masses;
  • Available space for congregation attending in the churches and on their grounds is reserved for families, loved ones and parishioners;
  • Where available, webcams will livestream the Masses and public address systems will be in place on church grounds;
  • When information on the Funeral Liturgies becomes available, these will be published to the media.

Nicole (Nikki) Murphy RIP
Reposing at home on Wednesday 30 August from 4.00pm to 8.00pm.  Removal on Thursday to Saint John the Baptist Church, Kilcash, Eircode E91 A4E9, followed by Funeral Mass on arrival at 12.00 noon.  The principal celebrant will be Father Brain Power, PP of Kilsheelan / Kilcash.  Burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. 
 
Luke McSweeney RIP and his sister Grace McSweeney RIP
Luke and Grace will repose at home on Wednesday, 30 August, from 3.00pm to 8.30pm and on Thursday, 31 August, from 3.00pm to 8.30pm.  The Funeral Mass for Luke and Grace will take place on Friday, 1 September, at 11.30am in Saints Peter & Paul’s Church, Clonmel, E91 YY01.
 
The principal celebrant will be Father Billy Meehan, PP of Saint Mary’s Church Clonmel, and school chaplain in the Presentation Secondary School.  Father Meehan married Brigid and Paul – Luke and Grace’s parents – and also baptised Luke and Grace.  The music for the Mass will be provided by the choirs of Presentation Secondary School and CBS High School, Clonmel.  Burial will take place afterwards in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery.  Webcam: www.churchservices.tv/clonmelpeterpaul 
 
Zoey Coffey RIP
Zoey will be reposing in O’Donoghue’s Funeral Home, Kickham Street, Clonmel, E91 PK19, on Friday, 1 September, from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.  Zoey’s Funeral Mass with take place on Saturday, 2 September, arriving at 11.30am in Saints Peter & Paul’s Church, Clonmel, E91 YY01.  The principal celebrant will be Father Michael Toomey, VF/PP of Ardfinnan, Newcastle/Fourmilewater, and Chaplain in the CBS High School Clonmel.  The music will be provided by the choir of Presentation Secondary School.  Burial will take place afterwards in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery.  Webcam: www.churchservices.tv/clonmelpeterpaul 
 
Father John Treacy is the Parish Priest of Saints Peter & Paul’s Church, Clonmel, where the funerals of Luke, Grace and Zoey will take place, and is school chaplain in the Loreto Secondary School.
