Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly to appeal for information about the damaged statue on the cathedral grounds

You, or a representative, are invited to attend a press briefing in relation to the damaged statue of Archbishop Patrick Leahy on the grounds of the Cathedral of the Assumption in Thurles, Co Tipperary. Details:

Background:              Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly SMA, Archbishop of Cashel & Emly, and Inspector James White of Thurles Garda station, will be available to speak to journalists at 11.15am        following 10.30am Mass to appeal for information about the damaged statue of Archbishop Patrick Leahy on the cathedral grounds.  The statue was damaged and head removed in June of this year.  Archbishop Patrick Leahy was Archbishop of Cashel & Emly from 1857 – 1875 and oversaw the construction of the Cathedral of the Assumption in Thurles.
