The priests celebrating the funeral Masses on Friday 22 March in the Archdiocese of Armagh, for the three teenagers who died in Cookstown, Co Tyrone, on Saint Patrick’s night, are:

  • Father Aidan McCann, curate of Dungannon, (Drumglass, Killyman and Tullyniskin) for the late Morgan Barnard in Saint Patrick’s Church, Dungannon, at 10.00am.  Burial afterwards in Carland Road cemetery.
  • Father David Moore, parish priest of Pomeroy for the late Lauren Bullock in Saint Patrick’s Church, Donaghmore at 11.00am.  Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
  • Father Kevin Donaghy, parish priest of Dungannon, (Drumglass, Killyman and Tullyniskin) for the late Connor Currie in Saint Malachy’s Church Edendork at 2.00pm.  Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

The liturgical details for the funeral Masses have not yet been finalised.  The celebrants ask of media representatives not to make contact with them at this sensitive time.  All media queries should be directed to the Catholic Communications Office in Maynooth, contact details are below.

Out of respect for the solemnity of the Masses, and to provide privacy for the families and friends of the deceased as well as space for parishioners, the use of media camera equipment within the churches is not permitted. Where possible a designated area will be reserved – and clearly identified – for use by camera journalists.

Audio equipment cannot be connected to the ambos situated beside the altars, or in the sacristies, of the churches.  Public address systems will be in place for external use.

When information on the funeral liturgies becomes available, it will be issued to media by the CCO.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
