Mass in honour of Pope Francis in Pro-Cathedral

Mass to mark the first anniversary of the inauguration of Pope Francis will be celebrated next Wednesday, March 19th at 5:45pm by the Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Charles Brown, in St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral. Archbishop Diarmuid Martin will preach the Homily.

On this special occasion, Our Lady’s Choral Society, will sing the “Misa Criolla” by the famous Argentinian composer Ariel Ramirez. The Mass, composed by Pope Francis’ fellow countryman, will include solo singing from tenor Andrew Bushell and boy soprano, Andrew Jones.

Misa Criolla” combines Spanish text with indigenous instruments and rhythms and in the Pro-Cathedral next week these will include the harpsichord, guitar and percussion.
