Bishop Donal Murray launches Inter-Church Relations: Developments and Perspectives

a tribute to Bishop Anthony Farquhar

On the first day of the Bishops’ Conference Autumn meeting in Maynooth, Bishop Donal Murray, Bishop of Limerick launched a new Veritas publication entitled Inter-Church Relations: Developments and Perspectives.

This publication is a tribute to Bishop Anthony Farquhar, Auxiliary Bishop of Down and Connor and celebrates the contribution that he has made to inter-church relations since he was ordained bishop twenty five years ago.
Inter-Church Relations: Developments and Perspectives discusses aspects of contemporary relations by presenting recent developments in international dialogue and networking amongst Churches.
Contributors to the book, which is edited by Fr Brendan Leahy, include: Cardinal Walter Kasper, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, Cardinal Seán Brady, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, Archbishop Mario Conti, Archbishop of Glasgow, Bishop Crispian Hollis, Bishop of Portsmouth, Bishop Gerard Clifford, Auxiliary Bishop of Armagh, Ms Eda Sagarra, Professor of German Trinity College and Pro-Chancellor of Dublin University.


Commenting on the book Cardinal Seán Brady said: “I am very pleased that this publication has been put together….We need to be reminded continuously that inter-Church relations are developing. New things are happening both at official and local levels. There is always room for further reflection and openness to new perspectives.”
