The ceremony, requested by the Archbishop of Dublin, Dr. Diarmuid Martin,
will have songs and prayers to commemorate the life of the Pope.
Led by Bishop Eamonn Walsh, music will include the Army Number 1 Band,
Liam Lawton, Bernadette Greevy and the Dublin Diocesan Music group. Joe
Duffy from RTE will give a reflection on his memories of the Papal visit
to Galway. The event will relayed on video screens around Cross. People
of all faiths are invited to attend.
The Archdiocese wishes to thank to Office of Public works which is putting
in place facilities to accommodate the public. Dublin Bus is running free
buses from Dublin City Centre to allow people to travel to and from Papal
Cross as access to the park will be restricted. Details will be announced
in papers from tomorrow.
