The Pope was a people's Pope for both young and old. He was a kind man who
I would have loved to have met and who's dedication will be missed.
Rest in peace.

This pope practised what he preached - leaving neither money or property
when he died. May his noble soul rest in peace.

Pope John Paul,
I didn't know you in life, (I only stopped ignoring God last week) I hope to
change this, what I have learnt about you over the last week, I think you
are a strong person, I wish I was capable of the same strength. I admire
your faith and trust and hope to learn alot from you in the future through
your life(I like to think it's never too late). May you rest in peace and
enjoy the company and love of God, Jesus, Mary, and all the saints, you've
earned it. Fair Play and Respect.
Loving you more each day, Shaz Belfast

redeem all people and to conquer death. Look with love and compassion on
your chosen Vicar, John Paul, our Pope. Bless him with your love and mercy.
May he come to share the happiness of your Kingdom, which he faithfully
promoted in his courageous witness among us. We ask You, Lord, to grant
him reward and eternal rest in Peace, Amen.

Please receive our condolences on the death of John Paul II.
I have been a lapsed Catholic these past fourteen years but have recently
started to return to the Church.
I have not been a great fan of the Pope for many years, though I always had
great respect for religion.
However, by the time JPII had died, I felt an unexpected sadness at his
passing.
I pray that the next choice of Pope will be as great a champion for peace
and understanding.
Yours sincerely,
Paul Lee

On Behalf of the students of Loreto Balbriggan, I would like to express the
profound loss we have all felt at the death of the late Pontiff John Paul
the second. Most of the students are only discovering now, the effect that
the Pope had on the world during his lifetime. It almost seems like a double
loss, we never truly knew this amazing man. But just as he effected the world in
life, he now effects us all in death.
Lila-Marie hamilton (student of Loreto Balbriggan)
Although not of any particular religious denomination I would
like to express sympathy and sadness at the loss of your Pope. He was a man of
his word and had great conviction. He was a great influence to a great many,
especially the young and deserves the respect he gained through his Papacy and in his
dignified death. May he rest, with God, in peace.

I wish to thank the Archbishop and all concerned for facilitating our mourning
of our beloved Pope. All the ceremonies were helpful and inspiring. It was made
very clear that we have to face the challenge of the Pope's legacy.
I thank God for having met Pope John Paul 11 at the Nunciature in 1979. I
have done my best to read and study his writings. For me the challenge is to
spread this practice with his help. He has been an inspiration for the sick
and the healthy, for the intellectual and the ordinary, for young and old,
for families and single people, for those in the work place and those at home.
He has opened up the way of the lay person and also the role of woman. There
is so much for which we have to give thanks and of course we have to do this
by our actions, following the example of Pope John Paul.
He has shown us how to pray and the power of prayer.
He has shown us the value of suffering. He has shown us how to reach out to everybody.
These past weeks have been a gift from the Holy Spirit. It seems that we have
recovered our confidence in the Church. We have to maintain this momentum. We
all have our part to play in the Church with the help of Mater Ecclesiae.
My thanks to the Cardinals and everybody in Rome.
