country. Not only did he proclaim the faith, but in his suffering he
lived it on a daily basis. He will be sadly missed.

Condolences on the death of a wonerful and never to be forgotten POPE,
John Paul II.
Paddy D'Arcy & family.
Tinahely, Co. Wicklow

I wish to send our condoloences on the death of a great Pope John Paul 11.
Wonderful memories of his visit to Ireland in 1979. He bore is illness
with great digniity and was an example to everyone who is living with an
on-going illness/handicap and indeed to the aged - he showed that even
though the body maybe weak physically - his mind was as sharp as ever.
May we keep this in mind when we are dealing with the old, the disabled
and the handicapped.
The Lucey Family, Gneeveguilla, Co. Kerry.

I am deeply saddened by the death of our Holy Father. He was a man with
great principals and was not afraid to say it as he saw it. He did more
to bring young people back into the church than any of his predecessors.
I am glad that his suffering is over and I admired him for way he bore
his illness and the frustration and pain that it brought. Safe in the
arms of Jesus.
Ann Fortune, Wicklow

I was a ypoung girl, when Pope John Paul visited Drogheda
in September 1979.
I was afraid of the crowd ( I suffer with a fear of crowds). and was
saddened I could not go there.
However I stood in a car park ourside Drogheda, and it was like a miracle
as I looked up and saw the helicopter in sky just above where we were
standing. I saw the Pope wave down, that made such an impact that I will
never forget. I cried. From that day on I belive that there is a God, as
that incident changed my life.
I think Pope John Paul is the greatest leader of the Catholic Church we
have ever seen. He was a man of people and he went to people, this showed
how in touch he was with people.
I am saddened at his death, but he faced death with such ease that I feel
people will never see death the same again.
He will be missed for so many reasons.
A Pope who was a People's Pope. God Rest Him.

A Chara,
My family and I are greatly saddened like the rest of the world over the loss
of this great and holy father. He had a great spriritual presence in this world
as we have seen he touched the lives of all faiths and sought out the poor and
sick wherever he went. His character is one of kindness and love.

to whom it may concern,
Just to say that we have lost a great charismatic leader
in the Pope.He has seen the evil of the nazis towards his fellow
jews, and no one can ever see or say anything non constructive.
Morally, socially and persistence gave him the courage outwardly
embrace everyone careless to what ever people believed in. A sad
and LONELY END TO A GREAT PERSON.

Farewell.
As night fell over Rome,
On this historic day.
We grieved the loss,
Of a great one,
To whom we often prayed.

His gift of hope,
When times were bad,
Within our hearts will stay.
We remember Pope John Paul two,
In our own special way.

His suffering is over now,
He is at peace at last.
Though in our thoughts,
He will remain,
And always in our hearts.

Though to heaven he has gone,
Within our lives he’ll stay,
A guiding light,
A beacon,
His love will show the way.

So John Paul,
We offer you,
Our thoughts and prayers today.
Though we all know,
Your love we’ll see,
On our own judgement day.
Slán Leat.

A very special person who touched all of us in some way or another,
he will be badly missed by us all. May he rest in peace I believe we
have all taken something special from him into our lives.
Peter O'Neill, Dublin , Ireland

A great man has gone to God. Ni bheidh a leatheadh ann aris.

The world has lost it's greatest ever humanitarian leader.
He was a voice for everyone, regardless of race or creed. May he rest in peace.
