ARCHDIOCESE OF DUBLIN Archbishop Diarmuid Martin will lead the Way of the Cross in the Phoenix Park, on Good Friday, 14th April. This annual “urban pilgrimage”, organised by Communion and Liberation, is open to everyone. It will start at the Wellington Monument at 3.00 pm and proceed to the Papal Cross, concluding at approximately 4.30 pm. Music will be provided by the Communion and Liberation Choir, conductor Raffaela Braga. DIOCESE OF GALWAY The Most Reverend Martin Drennan, Bishop of Galway will preside at the Holy Week Ceremonies in the Cathedral of St Nicholas of Myra, Galway. Holy Thursday 13th April 2006 A particular liturgical highlight is the celebration of the Holy Thursday Mass of Chrism at which the Bishop, with the priests of the whole diocese concelebrating Mass, performs the Ceremony of the blessing of the Oils which will be used in the administration of the Sacraments throughout the year. Two special features of this ceremony are the Anointing of the Sick and the renewal of priestly commitment by the priests as they renew their Ordination promises. Every parish sends representatives to this liturgy and the special theme of the priesthood is further emphasised by the presence of the parents of priests whom the Bishop has personally invited to the Ceremony. The Mass of Chrism takes place at 11.00am and the Mass of the Lord's Supper takes place at 8.00pm. Good Friday - 14th April 2006 Commemoration of the Lord's Passion at 3.00pm. DIOCESE OF KILLALA The Bishop of Killala, Dr John Fleming, celebrated Mass in St Muredach's Cathedral, Ballina, for Palm Sunday. The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchure in Ireland were in attendance at this Mass. Tuesday 11th April 2006 Bishop Fleming will celebrate the Mass of Chrism in the Cathedral on Tuesday evening, April 11th. a special place will be reserved at this Mass for the representatives of the parishes of the diocese, as well as for the parents of the priests of the diocese. Holy Thursday - 13th April 2006 Bishop Fleming will celebrate the Mass of the Lord's Supper in St Muredach's Cathedral on Holy Thursday evening at 7.30.pm. Good Friday - 14th April 2006 Bishop Fleming will celebrate the Passion of the Lord in St Patrick's Church, Ballina at 3.00pm.
