public the calendar of celebrations at which the Holy Father will preside 
between December 1 and January 12. 

First Sunday in Advent - 1 December 2002
Mass in the Paul VI Hall at 10.00am with the Filipino community in Rome.

Second Sunday in Advent - 8 December 2002
Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Homage
to Mary Immaculate, Spanish Steps at 4.00pm.

Tuesday 10 December 2002
Mass for students of the Roman Athenaeums at 5.30pm in the Vatican Basilica.

Fourth Sunday in Advent - 22 December 2002
Mass with the community of the Roman parish of St. Hilary of Poiters in the 
Paul VI Hall at 10.00am. 

Tuesday 24 December 2002
Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord. Midnight Mass in the Vatican Basilica.

Wednesday 25 December 2002
Solemnity of the Birth of the Lord. "Urbi et Orbi"blessing at noon from the
central balcony of the Vatican Basilica. 

Tuesday 31 December 2002
Vespers and "Te Deum" of thanksgiving at 6.00pm in the Vatican Basilica. 

Wednesday 1 January 2003
Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God and 36th World Day of Peace. Mass in the
Vatican Basilica at 10.00am.

Monday 6 January 2003
Solemnity of the Epiphany. Episcopal ordinations in the Vatican Basilica at
9.00am.

Sunday 12 January 2003
Baptism of Our Lord. Mass and Baptism of Children in the Sistine Chapel at 10.00am.
