New Catholic Archbishop of Cardiff

Pope John Paul II has appointed Bishop Peter Smith to be the new Archbishop of Cardiff. Bishop Smith has been Bishop of East Anglia since 1995. He succeeds Archbishop John Aloysius Ward OFM Cap, Archbishop of Cardiff since 1983.

Radharc Award Launch

Ossory Priest Appointed Rector Of the Irish College, Rome

Fr Liam Bergin (41), a priest of the Diocese of Ossory, has been appointed Rector of the Pontifical Irish College, Rome. He succeeds Monsignor John Fleming (Diocese of Limerick) who held the position for the past eight years.
