(Note: Cardinal Desmond Connell, Archbishop of Dublin, was to have celebrated this Mass and preached the homily. However, he is at present in Rome, with Archbishop Sean Brady, President of the Irish Episcopal Conference, for the World Synod of Bishops which runs from 30 September to 27 October.)
